So 10 days ago was the launch day for shflix.com and I was genuinely surprised to get so much interest from the r/selfhosted community on reddit.

Besides the jokes on the name, I found the support from the community really encouraging and made me feel like I am actually bringing some value to share with other tech independence seeking folks.

shflix.com is a free website propelled with my own financing, and I hope that I will be able to sustain its cost through partnerships and affiliate recommendations for hosting platforms and through a curated list of hardware equipments that can be bought on Amazon, as a starting point.

If you have recommendations for partnerships that you prefer, please let me know, this community is about making shflix.com a service that really brings you value.

A word about latest updates:

• Fixes (please let me know if you have bugs with your own configs?)
  • display is working correctly for Firefox users
  • nextdns shouldn't block the site anymore
• Features that were developed
  • Filter by categories
  • Filter by platform
  • I hope you like the UX for these multi-select filter dropdowns?
  • A "share" button is now available on each app details modal view
  • There is now a "shop" page with recommended hardware to start or upgrade your hardware, happy to get your recommendations on what material you would recommend, also if you have preferred trustworthy resellers as an alternative to Amazon?

I've been asked to develop a "add to my favorite" button for the apps, which would actually require to create an account on shflix.com which implies some work on the backend and might take some time.

Please let me know what other features would improve your experience and I shall prioritize them accordingly
